Currently ACTION OHIO is not recruiting job candidates for any open paid employment positions. ACTION OHIO does accept unsolicited resumes and vitas on an on-going basis. Original documents sent by regular mail are preferred.
ACTION OHIO is a non-profit (501c3) human services organization, which focuses on womenís and family issues. As a statewide, advocacy organization, ACTION OHIO is very involved in public policy and legislative issues, particularly at the state level. As part of its effort to increase public awareness of domestic violence and its impact on the family and the community, ACTION OHIO participates in a wide variety of outreach activities and produces its own annual public awareness event in October, National Domestic Violence Month.
Generally, ACTION OHIO is not a direct-service provider. Other than resource/referral, we do not work directly with DV victims or survivors.
In keeping with our commitment to diversity, ACTION OHIO is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Through our staff, volunteer base, Board of Directors and interns, we seek to reflect our community.

Although a college degree is not always a requirement for employment, a
college degree or equivalent life experience is generally preferred.
Preferred college degree programs include Womenís Studies, Political
Science, Sociology, Psychology, Communications, Journalism, English,
Criminal Justice and Social Work.
ACTION OHIO offers a wide range of creative internship opportunities. Students interested in internships should submit their resume, a writing sample and a letter of reference by regular mail. Following review of these materials, ACTION OHIO will schedule an interview if the strengths of the candidate match priority internship projects. The interview is an opportunity for the student to learn about ACTION OHIO and for ACTION OHIO to meet and get to know the potential intern.
Interns are asked to sign an
informal letter agreement and to establish a regular work schedule, based on
the studentís and ACTION OHIOís needs. ACTION OHIO will assist the intern in
developing a project with goals and objectives and supervise her/his
progress. Upon successful completion of the project, ACTION OHIO will supply
the student with a letter of reference upon request.
